Police in Simbu are impressed with the behaviours of grade twelves in High and Secondary schools across the province for ending the grade 12 exams peacefully without any public disorder.
SIMBU Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Detective Superintendent, Mazuc Rubiang, said they have not received any reports of students misbehaving and causing public disorder after the final examinationunlike few grades 10 students where 18 male students were arrested and appeared in Court last week.
PPC Rubiang strongly believed that the same positive behaviour would continue to be maintained by grade eights (8) as their exam commenced today Monday 20th October and ends this Friday.
PPC said the positive behaviour by grade 12s shows that his messages to the students in the province discouraging them not to involve in any illegal activities and causing public disorder was well received.
“I take this time to thank all grade 12s, their parents, and the community leaders for their support to maintain law and order situation in the province.
“I have spoken to my Officer in Charge (OIC) of Prosecution to make application to court for those grades 10s who pleaded not guilty, and their case adjourned,” PPC Rubiang said, and adding that he said if the students are convicted, their grade 10 certificates would be forfeited to the state.
PPC Rubiang makes this tough decision so that such behaviour will not continue in the future. The parents have a duty to look after their children and ensure they are not involved in such behaviour going forward.
Ends.
