A young man was caught by the Indonesian Special Forces at Tanamera in Indonesia for smuggling drugs across the border to Indonesia on Thursday last week.

North Fly acting Police Commander, Inspector Anjap Minata said the suspect was caught by the Indonesian Special Forces whilst they were mending the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea (PNG).

PPC Minata said the suspect was identified as Aiden Diro, 30 years old from Obo village along the Fly River in the Middle Fly District, Western province. He said the suspect is now detained in the Tanamera cell in Indonesia.

PPC Minata confirmed that the drug weighs 1kilogram. He said the intension of smuggling the drug into Indonesia was not established yet at this stage.

Mr Minata said the border between Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Indonesia was well mended by the Indonesian Military Forces and there is less or no way drugs get into Indonesia.

PPC Minata warned people in Western that they could do anything they want to do without being caught but their times are numbered, and they would still be caught. He said when the suspects are caught, they would face full force of the law.
