BRING BACK DISCIPLINE THROUGH WEEKLY PARADE: LAE POLICE

A weekly Police Station Commander’s (PSC’s) parade has recently restarted in Lae, Morobe Province to bring back discipline in the Police Force says Superintendent for Operations in Lae, Chief Inspector James Luan.

Luan who inspected the parade stressed on grooming and punctuality. He reminded the officers on parade to never forget the simple things taught to them at Bomana Police Collage.

He said the whole reason for having this weekly parade is to use this as a mean to gather all members and communicate with them on pressing issues, ensure dressing standards and punctuality are maintained and stress on other important announcements.

“Simple things like ironing of uniforms, polishing shoes, shaving of beards and punctuality are dying out.

“I want to see improvement in your dressing, and I want to see everyone in the next parade,” Luan told members on parade.

He reminded them that insubordination is a serious disciplinary offence in the Police Force and those that do not make improvements will be charged and disciplined accordingly.

“This is a disciplinary organisation, and we follow orders and instructions and abide by the rules and regulations of the Force,” Mr Luan reminded them. The parade will be held every Friday at 7:30am at the Bumbu Barracks for inspection, announcements and rollcall before members report to their areas of duty.
