The National Capital District Criminal Investigating Division police officers are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy from Goilala who was found dead outside Koki Fish Market this morning.
According to the deceased’s mother, the deceased is identified as Stanley James, who is currently in grade four at Koki Primary School. The mother further added that the boy left the house yesterday (Sunday, 02, 2025) during the day, telling her that he wanted to go to Koki and wash. She said she insisted, but he escaped and went there. He never returned in the afternoon when they started looking for him.
The mother added that they searched every possible location they thought he would be but never found him until they drove back to Two Mile when they heard the news that a body of a young boy was found at the Fish Market. She said they went there and confirmed that it was James.
“We now leave it to the police to investigate and find out how he died because, at this moment, we are not sure how he died. The police and the doctors will tell us how he died, so we will wait for the results,” the mother said.
National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Warrick Simatab also confirmed that police units are collecting evidence from possible eyewitnesses to establish the cause of death of the 14-year-old. He said the death toll in the city is increasing. He mentioned that people are dying in different ways: some are murdered, some die in accidents, while others die due to illness.
“I am calling on the city residents to be cautious when moving around. With the increasing death toll, some people do not have respect for others. Small things can lead to people losing their lives, like not monitoring each family member on how they move around and where they go. Checking on your family members daily shows that you care for them,” Metsupt Simatab said.
He further added that no suspects had been arrested yet regarding the death of the small boy.
