Police Commissioner David Manning has announced that the major Police reshuffle will be made soon based on the individual performance on Wednesday 19th, in Lae Morobe Province.
Commissioner Manning made this announcement in the election debrief conference attended by the Deputy Commissioner Operation Anton Billie, Deputy Commissioner Administration Joanne Clarkson, acting Deputy Commissioner Specialist Operation Donald Yamasombi, Deputy Commissioner and Chief of Bougainville Police Francis Tokura, all Assistant Commissioners, Divisional and Provincials Police Commanders and Directors of the Roya Papua New Guinea Constabulary.
Mr Manning said, “This election was also an alternative way to assess your level of command, control and leadership skills in your respective commands.
“In the coming weeks there will be hard but fair decisions must be made and will be made. There will be reviewed commitment to better support command particularly demand for greater performances. We are a disciplinary force and we should remain and manage as such.
He further added that, “The RPNGC is in the face of rebuilding, we as an organisation embark on a 10 plan to transition into organisation that is aspiring to be led and manage by the competent and competently. In turn, a Police force that is well effective, efficient and readily available to meet the challenge of our people.
“Neither I nor the current executives are at the benefit of this reforms. We are very much aware that it is very much to be enjoyed by our successors five to ten years in the future.
“What we do collective now in our time is very critical for the change. In consistent with this, the evaluation of our performance is on-going. Most of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) are aware.
“My intent for the new year will be released via commissioner circular in November this year. I encourage you all to familiarize and context it in delivering in your end of year parade.
“The important of this evaluation process and reshuffle is key to our success, its key to rebuilding the force. All of us here are very must part of the transmission,” Commissioner Manning said.
Mr Manning further acknowledged Mr Francis Tokura Deputy Police Commissioner and Chief of Bougainville Police Service and Mr Peter Guinness Commander Northern for their service this far saying, “This is probably the last election debrief and so on behalf of the RPNGC I acknowledge your continuity, dedication and loyalty to the organisation this far and we wish you well in your future endears,” Mr Manning concluded.
