POLICE STATION COMMANDERS ARE THE PRIMARY POINTS OF CONTACTS FOR POLICING MATTERS

Friday 27th March 2026

Enga Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Chief Superintendent, Steven Harris has advised the public that the Police Station Commanders (PSCs) are the primary points of contact for policing matters within their respective districts.

PPC Harris said the PSCs are responsible for day-to-day policing, responding to incidents, managing police operations, community engagement, and ensuring law and order is maintained in their areas. He said they are empowered to make operational decisions and coordinate police responses at the district level.

“Importantly, PSCs operate under the instructions andrepresent the command decisions of the Provincial Police Commander (PPC). When the public deals with a Police Station Commander, they are dealing with the Provincial Command through that officer.

“This structure ensures decisions are implemented quickly and policing services are delivered efficiently across the province and allows matters to be handled at the appropriate level without unnecessary delays.

“The public, community leaders, businesses and government agencies are encouraged to contact their local Police Station Commander directly for policing assistance, reporting crimes, community issues, or operational matters,” PPC Harris said.

PPC Harris said the public could contact the following Enga Province Police Station Commanders for police matters:

Senior Sergeant Danny Mura

Police Station Commander – Laiagam

Phone: 7252 0100

Senior Inspector John Wasaman

Police Station Commander – Wabag

Phone: 7286 1739
