POLICE RETRIEVE UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY

Police in the National Capital District and Central Province are investigating the death of a female who is yet to be identified. The body was discovered at Ruburoko along Hiritano Highway, just past Dasiama in Hiri Koiari District of Central Province.

Central Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector Joseph Salle confirmed that the deceased female body was discovered by a man who went to his garden. He saw the body of the lady and later reported it to the local leaders, who then reported the matter to the police.

He said officers from Forensic, Central Criminal Investigation, and the Laloki police today went to the scene, retrieved the body, and brought it to the Port Moresby General Hospital Morgue, where it is currently located.

PPC Salle added that the female had a tattoo on her right abdomen side. The tattoo is painted in yellow, red, and black. He further mentioned that she has short hair and is about 140 centimeters tall. 

“Police, community leaders, and village representatives from the Ruburoko area raised awareness in the surrounding villages, and they confirmed that all females are present. We are now extending our call to the general public to check each house, and if any female members that fit the described criteria are missing, they can call Central Police Headquarters, and police officers will assist. The body of the deceased female is now in the morgue at Three Mile,” PPC Salle said.

He added that the bilum, clothes and her tongs were also retrieved and photographed which the public can see the photos to identify her.
