Notification of Screening & Selection Centre

 

The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) wishes to notify all shortlisted applicants for the 2026 Officer Cadet Program that the Selection Centre assessments will commence according to the schedule below.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL SHORTLISTED APPLICANTS

  • Eligibility: Only candidates whose names appear on the published shortlist are eligible to attend. Applicants whose names do not appear on the shortlist should consider their application unsuccessful
  • Attendance: Candidates must report to their assigned venue on the scheduled date and time.
  • Dress Code: All candidates are required to attend in strict formal business attire.
  • Selection Centre Designations (Southern and Selected provinces of NGI Region)

Important Notice: Due to the limited number of shortlisted applicants from certain provinces within the Southern and New Guinea Islands Region, shortlisted candidates will be required to make their own travel arrangements to the nearest designated Selection Centre in the New Guinea Islands Region or the National Capital District (NCD) to attend their scheduled interview and assessment.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
Failure to provide any of the following original documents will lead to immediate disqualification.

 For Screening Apointment

  • National Identification (NID) Card and Original Birth Certificate.
  • Original Grade 10,12 School Certificates including upgrade transcripts, Statement of Results for lost certificates and Tertiary qualification from an approved government institution.
    Note: Only Qualifications obtained from a government institution will be accepted.
  • Completed Standard Course Application form along with Recommendation Letter. (Cadet Serving Members only)

For Interview Stage

  • Original Copies of educational qualifications (Secondary and tertiary qualifications)
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • NID and Birth Certificate.
  • Completed Standard Course Application Form with Recommendation Letter
  • Two (2) Reference Letters (e.g., from employers, pastors, or magistrates) with details for three (3) contactable referees (unreachable referees will result in disqualification
  • Three (03) recent passport-size photographs (taken within the last 3 months)

SELECTION PROCESS OVERVIEW

  • Testing: Successfully screened candidates will be scheduled for the testing phase.
  • Medical & Fitness: Candidates passing the interview will undergo comprehensive Tier 1 Medical Checks and a physical fitness test.
  • Costs: Candidates shortlisted for the interview stage must obtain valid Police Clearance at their own expense.
  • Final Cadet Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a final interview conducted by the RPNGC Executive Leadership Team.
  • Background Check: Referee and background checks will be conducted for shortlisted candidates at the conclusion of the selection process.
